SoccerFest 2009
Bowen Island FC will host its 3rd annual SoccerFest featuring training sessions, small sided games, prizes and other fun activities at BICS Field from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 14. Admission is free of charge and food and drink will be available.
SoccerFest will be an opportunity for the community to meet the Bowen FC coaches and organizers and get an early start on Fall Registration.
The Club has also invited a number of local high profile soccer personalities to attend the event. Former Canadian national team and Vancouver Whitecaps goalkeeper Paul Dolan who played for Canada at the 1986 World Cup and who is currently the national team goalkeeper coach, will put on sessions throughout the day. In addition, Tony Fonseca, currently the assistant coach with the men’s national team and a former Portuguese international who played his club soccer at Benfica, will put the players through a number of training drills and practice sessions. Former national team striker Garret Kusch, who played professionally in Belgium, will work with the players and pass on some of his accumulated knowledge.
