The BIFC Summer Invitational is an exciting new soccer tournament we'll be hosting here on Bowen Island in August. We'll be opening up to teams from on and off Island to put on a fun and friendly competition that showcases what an incredible place we are lucky enough to be able to call home.

For 2025 we'll be focusing on launching with an over 35's format, but are strongly hoping to be able to expand to more ages once we've proven that this event can be a huge success.

What To Expect
The plan is to have a Round Robin format with two groups of four teams. The top two teams in each group will progress on into the Winners Cup and the bottom two team will compete for the BIFC Shield.​​
Ethos
The aim of this tournament is to be fun, fair and inclusive. We want to stress that all matches should be approached in a friendly manner, with respect for players of all levels.
It is key to the future success of this tournment that these rules are adhered to, and our referees decisions are treated as final.

Ferry: We recommend getting the 8.05am ferry (arrive at least 15 mins before sailing)

After Party
No soccer tournament would be complete without a good after party!
We're in the process of finding a venue that can host us all for the evening after we've finished playing, and will follow up with more details.
How to Get Here
Take the ferry from Horseshoe Bay to Bowen Island. You can walk or drive on, and the ferry runs approximately every hour. From there it is a short walk up the hill to the field.
Expect it to be busy and arrive early.

Cost Per Team: $300

Each squad should be made up of 10 coed players to allow for 6 v 6 matches (including GKs). 2 players can be aged under 35, but the remainder must be O35s.
Sponsorship
Given that we're in our first year, and the logistics of the tournament have been our priority we haven't explored sponsorship. That said if you are interested in sponsoring the event we'd be happy to chat about how we could give your business prominence and provide more value for our players by collaborating.
