HOW TO GET HERE

Info for Visiting Teams

You can park your car in Horseshoe Bay and come over to Bowen on foot. The fields are only a 5 – 10 minute walk up the main street to the school.  Whether you come in a car or by foot, make sure you arrive at the ticket booth at least ten minutes ahead of the ferry's scheduled departure time to ensure you get on. The ferry leaves Horseshoe Bay approximately every hour in the morning and afternoon, with a longer break at midday. You can find the latest schedule on the BC Ferries website.

The fare to Bowen is round-trip and collected on the Horseshoe Bay side. Youth soccer players are generally eligible for free travel so let the ticket agent know you are playing soccer. Cars and parents are not free. Consider an Experience Card if you have several adults with you or you plan to come to Bowen again. Load the minimum on the card ($95) using your credit card and get 40% off your fare.

If you’re bringing your car on the ferry, when you arrive at the Horseshoe Bay ferry terminal, stay in the right hand lane and look for the overhead neon sign for Bowen Island. Once you’ve paid your fare and passed the toll booths, you’ll be crossing over to the far left lane and heading all the way to the water where you will be directed to the undercover waiting area.

FACILITIES

Bowen Island FC Fields

The Bowen Island FC soccer fields are located at Bowen Island Community School (BICS) on Mt. Gardner Rd. Just continue uphill when you exit the ferry (see google maps below).

BIFC U9 and U10 games are played on our artificial turf field which is almost always open. Teams should assume that the field is open unless advised by the home team manager 24 hours before the game. Our Municipality replaced the old turf with a new and improved walnut and cork based version in August 2020.

BIFC U11 - U14 games are played on our grass field.  Visiting team managers will be notified of weather-related closures 24 hours before the game. BIFC provides a tent and bench for visiting teams when required.
