BIFC 2025 Highlights

As we come towards the end of the year we've taken a look back at some of the highlights from a remarkable year for Bowen Island FC. When we first started doing this we realised just how much we achieve as a club each year, that's testament to the effort of all our volunteers, without them we wouldn't be able to do all this, so as we close out the year a huge thaks to everybody that has making Bowen Island FC the success that we are.

1. Youth Soccer - Our Youth Soccer Programs are at the heart of everything we do as a club. Ensuring that there is an opportunity for players of all ages and abilities is central to our club ethos.

2. BIFC Summer Invitational Tournament - This was our first attempt at putting on a tournament like this, welcoming 4 teams from the mainland to play against two Bowen Island teams. It was a huge success, and something we’ll look to build on in 2026.

3. Coaching Accreditation Day - This is key to ensuring that our volunteer coaches are providing our players with strong football foundations based on a safe and challenging learning environment.

4. BIFC Training with EA SPORTS and UEFA - We took a trip to the home of EA SPORTS to take part in their FC Futures program along with UEFA.

   
   

   It was an incredible opportunity for the players and coaches that were able to join, giving a rare opportunity for our Bowen team to be involved in a practice that combined the elite in sports coaching and gaming.

5. Remembering Burns Jennings - Without Burns there would be no BIFC, so it was only fitting that there was a huge turnout to celebrate his life and offer up our thanks for everything he did to bring soccer to Bowen Island.

   
   

   Burns will always be remembered as a key part of our clubs history and as a great friend. Thanks for everything Burns.

   
   

6. Community Involvement - We LOVE Bowen Island, we are proud of where we live and thrive on being a big part of the local community. We really enjoyed being a part of some of the Island’s big events and traditions like Bowfest, Pride and Canada Day.

   
   

   We wouldn’t be able to do any of this without all our wonderful volunteers, so if you’d like to help, or have ideas for other ways we can join in with community events on Bowen please let us know.

7. New Kit Partnership - Another big 2025 highlight…we launched our new kit with the help of our new partners adidas and Macey’s Sports. We’ve started to get compliments wherever we go, and it’s no wonder!

   
   

   With new training gear and coaching equipment to come in 2026 we’re going to continue to look the part.
