BIFC COVID-19 PROTOCOLS
The safety of our players, coaches, managers, parents and our island as a whole is at the forefront of any decision the Club undertakes and with the amount of uncertainty and travel involved in playing in a league, the Club decided in August, 2020 not to enter any teams in league play this season, given the possible disruptions and restrictions. We decided to stay on Bowen and run a comprehensive in-house development program. We feel in-house programming provides the necessary flexibility required during these uncertain times and will maximize our ability to develop players in the safest possible environment. We are happy with this decision as it has allowed our youth team players to benefit from a greatly increased number of touches on the ball and avoided the limitations on development caused by substitutions.
Bowen Island FC is currently operating under Phase 1 of BC Soccer's Return to Play Guidelines. This involves social distance training only (for more details on Phase 1 protocols please see links below).
All players and parents are required to review these to be aware of the safety measures BIFC has put in place in order to be in compliance. If there is any doubt as to whether it is OK to send your child to the field, please use the BC Covid-19 Self Assessment Tool.
Bowen Island FC is adhering to the protocols outlined by Government of British Columbia, BC Soccer, viaSport BC and the Bowen Island Municipality. For more information on these guidelines please click on the logos listed below.
