A Fitting Tribute to Burns

Thank you to everybody who showed just what soccer is capable of when the Bowen Island Soccer Community came together with friends and family of Burns Jennings to celebrate his life yesterday. It was wonderful to see everybody come out to remember a man who has given so much to this Island, our community and the club...without Burns Jennings there would be no Bowen Island Football Club.

For the 100 or so players that joined in with the tournament, to the numerous friends and family that stayed around to show their support, this was a day where joy, humour and soccer were at the heart of how we all remembered Burns and what an incredible legacy he has left for us.

Burns Jennings will never be forgotten, and he'll always be at the heart of this great club that he helped create. Our love goes out to Angie, and Burns' family in these difficult times, we truly hope that yesterday's show of love and fondness gives a small amount of support and an indication that you'll always have this club, and our community's support. We'll miss you Burns, you'll never be forgotten.
