BIFC Summer Invitational Soccer Tournament

Breaking News! We're excited to announce that on August 30th we will host the inaugural BIFC Summer Invitational Soccer Tournament here on Bowen Island. This represents a long held ambition of the Board to host an annual tournament here on Bowen, and we're hoping for a successful first year that we can build on in future.

For this year we're going to be focusing on an Over 35s Tournament with 2 teams from Bowen Island and 6 teams coming from off island. Male and female players are both welcome, and each team can include two under 35 players. We'd love to open it up further and have open age, youth, over 50s and women's tournaments, but with this being our first year we needed to keep the logistics manageable. If all goes well we want to be able to extend the invite to all players in time to make the tournament the centre piece of our 20 year anniversary in the summer of 2027. If you'd be interested in joining the organizing team to help us expand, we'd love to hear from you!

The plan is to have a Round Robin format with two groups of four teams. The top two teams in each group will progress on into the Winners Cup and the bottom two team will compete for the BIFC Shield.​ The aim of this tournament is to be fun, fair and inclusive. We want to stress that all matches should be approached in a friendly manner, with respect for players of all levels. Like all good tournaments we're hoping to conclude with an after party (more details to follow).

The tournament will run from 10am - 4pm with the cost an incredibly low $30. Given that we're in our first year, and the logistics of the tournament have been our priority
